New album - Royce da 5'9" "Street Hop" album review

Royce is one of those artist that the majority of music listeners could not attribute a track to without out prompting. However for a Hip-Hop fan the minute you hear Royce check the mic you know you are in for witty flow with a grimy undertone mixed with the occasional excited but un-hurried delivery.
Street Hop is  the latest offer coming on the heals of the Bar exam series and Slaughterhouse features. Production runs the gambit from a basement upstart sound to polished, sample sprinkled tracks. This diversity makes for a good mix that paces the album well but keeps you off guard.
Some stand out tracks include:
"Soldier" which has a dope beat and delivery but an ill fitting hook that takes a bit of the pucnh out of the flow,"Dinner Time" has a track that gets road harder than the Lodge in in the summer after 2:30 AM.
"Warriors" and "Murder" are stand out tracks and hopefully can be serviced to DJ's as the B-side to the radio and club friendly "New Money" which lands right in the middle of the album and allows the listener to trade in their scowl for a quick head nod generated from the party record vibe.
All in all I'd say spend your money and cop the album you will not be disappointed.
On a personal note I hope the album does well Royce is a vet in the game and success would not only be earned but well deserved. - Buie

Google Chrome OS demo

Gizmodo
Google released Chrome OS' source code today, but one of Chrome's lead engineers, Idan Avraham, said a finished Chrome OS arrives "about a year from today." They took pains to note that Google itself won't be offering Chrome OS as a download to install on any system you have. They're developing Chrome OS for machines with "specific reference hardware," as their machines will boot directly from those machines and skip a lot of the hardware checking steps that standard operating systems run through.
The developers didn't offer pricing hints or targets from hardware partners. They did say, however, that they intend to "push" manufacturers to release netbooks with larger keyboards and mousepads, and crisper resolutions, and devices will be released "in the price ranges people see today."

New Wi-Fi Flip cam on the way.

If you have one like me you probably have grown to love your Flip cam Word on the street is the good folks at Cisco are launching a Wi-Fi enabled cam for 2010.
From Wired
...a new Flip will go on sale early in 2010, and that it will have Wi-Fi built in.
This is such a perfect fit it seems obvious. The Flip’s main rival as we see it is the iPhone 3GS, which can shoot video and upload it, all without a computer. Adding Wi-Fi transfer claws back one bullet point on the spec sheet.
The same source, speaking to the Pocket Lint blog, says that the screen will not feature touch, but will move, sliding back to “reveal the record and menu buttons underneath.” This will, presumably, mean a bigger screen than the current 2-inch LCD on the top-end Flip Ultra HD, which happily co-exists with the buttons by its side. We’d also guess that there will be some editing abilities, like the iPhone, so that you can trim and tuck your clips before sending them off to YouTube.

Hey Cisco, if you need a demo user let me know. I'd be happy to report back. - Buie

The 100 best quotes from "The Wire"

HBO's "The Wire" was one of my favorite shows.  And while I can't say I enjoyed the ending,  who has enjoyed an HBO series ending ( Oz, Sopranos, any season of Entourage). One redeming quality of the series would have to be the number of quotable lines that sporuted from the show. Take a look. - Buie
